Education

A bachelor's degree in French and Sociology at Kenyatta University. Currently, I am pursuing my master's in Gender and Development at the University of Nairobi.

Experience

I have tutoring experience from two institutions that I have worked in and the client referrals that I have acquired thanks to this wonderful site! I have taught the French language at Alliance Francaise de Nairobi. I was a teacher trainee assistant in the Children's Classes Department. It was here that I received my first training in foreign language teaching from the initial class preparation aspect to the last evaluation stage. Further, I have tutored French at Nova Pioneer High School. Understanding that technology shapes so much of high school student's experiences and expectations, I found creative ways to integrate it into my teaching. This inspired and motivated them to learn French. Additionally, I have worked as an English Language Assistant at France Education International. I was posted in Nantes, France where I taught both primary and secondary school students. This experience was instrumental in polishing my French proficiency. I am now confident that moving forward, I will provide better quality lessons given the wealth of knowledge and skills I acquired from this experience. I am passionate about tutoring because it is one of the most rewarding careers in the world. I am honoured by the impact I have on a student's life and to see them progress and grow is something that brings great joy to me. I love to help them learn and grow to become exceptional global citizens who are masterful readers, writers, problem-solvers, and critical thinkers empowered to take a stand and let their voices be heard. Its powerful to know that I am taking part in the preparation of the next generation to take charge of the world. Lastly, I am always excited to meet so many students from different walks of life. There is a rich tapestry of diversity from students who come from different cultures and backgrounds and with them. During discussions in class, we share diverse perspectives encouraging a symbiotic learning experience in which we all get the opportunity to learn from each other. This is a priceless experience. I am excited to begin the language learning journey with you. It's not easy but I promise you, it will be worthwhile in the end!
