Private tutor in Nairobi, Kenya
Education
I hold a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Nairobi, where I gained a strong foundation in mathematical theory, logical reasoning, and analytical problem-solving. My undergraduate performance placed me among the top students in my cohort, and I actively participated in academic seminars and collaborative projects that nurtured both my interest and proficiency in advanced mathematics. Following this, I successfully completed a Master of Science degree in Pure Mathematics, also from the University of Nairobi. At the graduate level, I focused on advanced topics such as abstract algebra, functional analysis, topology, and mathematical logic. The program not only deepened my theoretical understanding but also refined my skills in mathematical research, academic writing, and independent inquiry. My thesis work and involvement in postgraduate research allowed me to explore complex mathematical structures and develop a nuanced appreciation for the discipline. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematics at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) in China. My doctoral research builds upon my previous academic training, with a focus on AG Codes, aiming to contribute new insights to the field. This experience continues to enhance my research capabilities, cross-cultural academic collaboration, and global perspective in mathematics. Throughout my academic journey, I have remained committed to excellence, innovation, and the pursuit of mathematical knowledge, with the long-term goal of contributing to both academia and the broader scientific community.
Experience
Currently, I am a researcher at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), where I am also pursuing a PhD in Mathematics. My work involves advanced mathematical research and academic collaboration, contributing to the broader body of knowledge in my field. This role has allowed me to further develop my research capabilities while engaging with a vibrant international academic community. Between 2018 and 2020, I served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Nairobi, School of Mathematics. During this time, I taught a variety of undergraduate mathematics units, including foundational and advanced topics. This experience not only deepened my understanding of mathematical pedagogy but also strengthened my communication and mentorship skills. I took great pride in creating an engaging learning environment, where students were encouraged to think critically and develop confidence in their mathematical abilities. Earlier in my career, I taught Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the high school level. These formative years as a teacher were instrumental in shaping my passion for education and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the impact a dedicated educator can have on a student’s academic journey. I have always had a strong passion for mathematics, both as a discipline and as a tool for shaping logical thinking and problem-solving skills. My long-term goal is to inspire and mentor the next generation of mathematicians. I am especially passionate about teaching and lecturing, and I find immense fulfillment in helping students grasp complex concepts and develop a love for the subject. Above all, I see teaching not just as a profession, but as a calling—one that allows me to make a meaningful contribution to society by nurturing talent, encouraging intellectual curiosity, and fostering academic excellence.

Hobbies
Apart from reading and conducting research in mathematics, I have a variety of interests that help me maintain a well-rounded lifestyle. One of my favorite pastimes is watching movies. I enjoy a wide range of genres, from thought-provoking dramas and documentaries to light-hearted comedies and science fiction. I find that films offer a unique window into different cultures, ideas, and human experiences, often providing inspiration and a fresh perspective that complements my academic pursuits. In addition to movies, I have a deep appreciation for literature. I enjoy reading novels, particularly those that explore complex characters, philosophical themes, and imaginative storytelling. Whether it's classic literature, modern fiction, or historical narratives, I find that reading novels not only enhances my creativity and empathy but also serves as a refreshing escape from the rigor of academic work. These interests outside of mathematics allow me to maintain a healthy balance between intellectual engagement and relaxation. They also enrich my understanding of the world, fuel my curiosity, and contribute to my personal growth beyond the confines of the mathematical realm.
