Irene Muthoni Njoroge, a Kenyan citizen and born in 1977 in Nairobi, Kenya, is a Masters in Linguistics graduate of the University of Nairobi. She graduated in the same university with a Bachelor of Education degree where she specialized in Linguistics(scientific Study of Languages- English). In the Information technology industry, Irene has successfully completed the following courses offered by African Digital School Initiative(ADSI): Knowledge Deepening: Module 1 titled: Problem-Based Learning & ICT in the Classroom; Module 2 titled: Project-based Learning & ICT in STEM Teaching and Learning. Knowledge Creation: module 1 titled - Information Literacy, Inquiry-Based Learning ( Internet Search Engines and Search Techniques ) & Use of Infographics in STEM and other subjects teaching; module 2 titled - Designing, authoring and using Online digital learning Resources.
Experience
Irene is a teacher of English and Literature as well as the Academic Dean in St Peter's High School, Ndumberi. She has taught English reading, writing, grammar and speaking skills for 19 years in high school. She has achieved increased value addition to students' grades, gotten a number of awards for improved performance over all the years she has been teaching. Through the University Tutor website, Irene has handled one student, Cecily Njambi Kiragu successfully, in Business English tutorials in the area of procurement. Irene through, St Peter's High School, Ndumberi has been recognized for her tireless dedication towards STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in Kenya and support leading up to and during the Young Scientists Kenya National Science and Technology Exhibition which took place at Kenyatta International Convention Centre on 3rd to 7th August 2019. I want to be a tutor first of all as an opportunity to impart my language and computer skills on many more students, and secondly to upgrade myself financially.
